About

Dayna’s Footprints started the summer of 1997. Dayna, the oldest sister of our Founders, Sharif and Sam Sayed, took on the responsibility of raising all 5 of their siblings. Dayna was 16, and worked at Just For Feet in Arlington, TX. At the end of the summer, she used her hard-earned money to buy Sam and Sharif a pair of brand new shoes… something many kids took for granted. But it was with that simple act… that a little more confidence was sparked in them…that they held their heads a bit higher…that their mindsets evolved to push them to exceed what their life circumstances had dictated. That simple act changed them forever.

Just a few months later, Dayna was the victim of senseless gun violence, but her spirit lived on. Sharif and Sam never stopped striving to be more…because of her. In 2018, Sharif & Sam founded Dayna’s Footprints, a non-profit organization aimed at buying name brand shoes for underprivileged students, to honor Dayna’s legacy.
